UYCH Community Living programs
The In-Home Care program is designed to support the needs of all members of our diverse community from older people to people with disabilities and/or other challenges – enabling them to stay connected to their community and live independently in their own homes.
We provide home, personal and respite care and we can also assist in referring appropriate support within the aged care, disability and care-support systems. Funded support for carers can be provided through Commonwealth Respite, Carelink Centre and the Ambassador program.
Children with special needs are also provided for by carers specifically trained to meet the needs of children with physical, intellectual or behavioral challenges, allowing them to remain at home or to attend conventional child care, early intervention, kindergarten programs.
The Warburton Men’s Shed program provides a social hub for men who may be experiencing social or geographic isolation through aging, disability, dementia or other mental health issues.
The success of this program has been through men working in projects of their own choice, in an atmosphere of mateship.
