Principal - Yarra Valley Community School

The role of the Principal is a new position within Yarra Valley Community School (YVCS); which has been operating for just over a year.

The YVCS Principal will operate across two campuses and will lead within both an educational and welfare based setting that works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised, young people within the Yarra Ranges region.  YVCS campuses are based in Yarra Junction and Mt Evelyn and provide educational services to 130 students across both campuses

Reporting to the CEO; the Principal will lead the operation and development of Yarra Valley Community School and will work closely with the senior management team and school leadership team. The Principal will be required to travel regularly to both campuses to provide educational leadership and support to all school staff.

The primary objectives of the role are to:

  • Lead the school in achieving its strategic and educational objectives
  • Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive curriculum across all campuses
  • Develop and maintain productive relationship with campus and key staff
  • Ensure that the school operates within its allocated resources and financial budget
  • Promote the school and implement marketing strategies for future growth and sustainability

Demonstrated capacity to lead the school community in promoting a vision for the future, underpinned by common purposes and values that will secure the commitment and alignment of stakeholders to realise the potential of all students.

The person will be a strong leader with demonstrated capacity to effectively optimise the school’s financial, physical and human resources through sound management practices and organisation systems and processes that contribute to the implementation of the school’s vision and goals.

Demonstrated ability to foster a safe, purposeful and inclusive learning environment and the capacity to develop constructive and respectful relationships with staff, students, parents, colleagues and key stakeholders.

Key eligible criteria:

  • minimum four year trained
  • VIT registered
  • extensive experience working in the education sector

An approved Special and Inclusive education qualification or Masters of Education is desirable.

Position description – YVCS Principal

UYCH Community College - Trainer Assessor (Certificate III in Aged care/HACC)

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate trainer/assessor to build on their career with UYCH Community College. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of high quality training and assessment of Aged Care and Home and Community Care to adult learners.

The Upper Yarra Community House is seeking a qualified, passionate and experienced trainer who has current industry qualifications and experience.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Current work experience working in the aged care sector
  • Current work experience as a trainer
  • Hold a Certificate III in Aged Care and Certificate III in Home and Community Care or equivalent
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment -TAE40110
  • Have great communication skills to interface with the stakeholders of all levels
  • Organisational skills to manage your diary ensuring reliability and punctuality
  • Be a team player
  • Current IT skills
  • Be flexible

This is a sessional contract for the duration of the course. Salary packaging benefits exist.

The role will be based at Yarra Junction or Mt Evelyn in the beautiful Yarra Valley, with varying hours and days of work.

UYCH Community College - Trainer Assessor (Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care)

UYCH Community College is well known for delivering quality training in Early Childhood Education and Care. To continue this standard we are looking for an experienced trainer/assessor who is passionate about early childhood education and care and experienced in delivering high quality training.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Current experience working in the early childhood education and care industry
  • Current work experience as a trainer
  • Hold a Certificate III in Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment -TAE40110
